Words of the Wise

"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Proverbs 12:18

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,  and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6: 10-17

  1. Yesterday while pumping gas a very clean young man approached me and asked for change to fill his tank. We are struggling since I lost my job and we may be loosing our home soon. I told him I didn't have it (I had cash on me for food for my family and gas money for the week). The woman next to him told him 'No, get a job...you probably don't have insurance and on and on she went, even when she turned from him she was shouting to someone in her car about this low life. I got in my car and took out $5 and walked over to him. I told him I would watch him use it for gas, that I was sorry this woman was treating him this way (his vehicle was old but well cared for, it had current tags) that I had recently lost my job and know that I could be in his shoes someday. Pay if forward when you can. The young lady he was with began crying and said thank you. Love this post!
